![]() I then booted from this and went into Recovery Console in order to try and run checkdisk. I don't have the original disks but made a bootable USB disk from another copy of Windows XP (not 'embedded' just a normal copy?). When the system boots up it goes through the motions, the black Windows XP splash screen briefly appears, then it redraws the screen as though windows is just about to start (mouse icon appears) but instead a message box appears with the title "winlogon.exe - Corrupt File".Īnd the text within the message says (something like) "The file or directory C:\Windows\AppPatch is corrupt or unreadable. My work has a big TV screen that has information sent to it from a PC that runs Embedded Windows XP.
